Dr. Raj Raghunathan discusses the truth about happiness

 

Raj Raghunathan is Professor of Marketing at the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin. He is interested in exploring the impact that people’s judgments and decisions have on their happiness and fulfillment. Raj’s work has appeared in top journals, including The Journal of Marketing, The Journal of Consumer Research, The Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Consumer Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Information Systems Research, and The Journal of Personality and Social Psychology. His work has also been cited in several mass media outlets, including The Atlantic, The New York Times, Fortune, Forbes, Harvard Business Review, Inc, Fast Company, and The Los Angeles Times.

Raj writes about his views on happiness, creativity, and leadership on his popular Psychology Today blog (with over 1 million page views), Sapient Nature. His six-week long Coursera course on happiness (titled, A Life of Happiness and Fulfillment) currently has over 170,000 registered students from 196 countries, and was recently voted the Top MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) of 2015 and one of the Top 50 MOOCs of all time. Raj’s book (titled, If you’re so smart, why aren’t you happy?) was released in the Spring of 2016 in the US, UK, and India and is slated to be released in 12 other languages in late 2016 and early 2017.
